Ups & Downs {3}

Thumbs Up
- I received my package from Tessa Emily Hall last week. Needless to say, I just about screamed when I saw a parcel at the mailbox.

(The book smells like heaven. O.O )

100% on my chemistry exam. Woo!
- Cold weather = times to break out the winter scarves.
- Camping this past weekend with the 4-H club was exactly what the doctor ordered.
- Christmas is officially in less than 30 days.

Thumbs Down
- College finals are next week.
- My Thanksgiving this year consists of applesauce, pudding, and ice cream thanks to having my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning.

- John Green books aren't near as magnificent as I first believed they would be.
- I don't have Hunter Hayes' CD. And it's driving me insane. That boy is just so GAHHH. *swoon*

- Adulthood is officially in less than 4 months. o.O Excuse me while I go sob into my penguin pillow pet while clutching my Toy Story blanket.

Blog Design Review

I haven't hosted a product review on my blog in a while so I thought it was time to get to work (or, if you are a Disney nerd, get down to business.).

To accompany her duct tape wallets, hairbows, phone cases, jewelry (click here for that review), and many other crafty items, Meena has began a new creative adventure: blog designs! Instead of just posting pictures, I had fun conducting a short interview.

When did you decide you wanted to try your hand at blog designing?
I really wanted an amazing design for my blog, but didn't want to pay $20 for one! So I decided to learn. I took (and am still taking) baby steps.

Where did you receive the inspiration for your designs?
I have seen a bunch of designs and just used a color from one, and decided on a color scheme, and added little touches to it to make it perfect and complete. :)

If you could pick a favorite out of the designs you have created so far, which one would it be and why?
I really really really really REALLY like Mint Chocolate Chip, because I love the color scheme, and think it came out really well.

Approximately how long does it take for you to complete a design?
About 2-3 hours. Which is where I get the charge of them. How many hours I've worked on them. So, each design is $2. :)

QUICK: Which Disney princess do you think you are most like and why?
Um... #random Jasmine. She just stands up for what she believes in and works hard for everything.

You can find little Miss Meena over at her blog here.
Oh, and to all who understood that reference in the beginning of the post...I love you. We need to be friends in real life.

Trusting Him.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

(Inspiration for post)
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 6:25-34

Sometimes, it is all I can do to let go. I worry and fret about so many minor details in my life that it often comes close to the border of becoming unhealthy.

How am I going to be able to study for all of these exams?

What am I going to do with my life?

How do I juggle friendships, school, and my walk with the Lord and still be able to offer enough time to everything?

Where am I going to find the time to apply for all of these scholarships for college?

What am I going to eat for lunch today? (Okay, maybe not that much worry.)

Every day, my mind whispers to me, "You can do this by yourself. Quit being weak. Handle it on your own."

Every day, I strive to reply, "Shut up. I can't do this by myself anymore."

Sometimes I am just too stubborn to release my cares. But when I do, the weight of the world is lifted from my shoulders when I pass my fret onto the One who I know is much stronger than I am and will be able to endure anything I toss His way.

Darling, you are beautiful.

I will be the first to admit that I am not satisfied with my body. I never have been. There is no worse critic than I am on myself. It is for that reason that I can relate to every single girl who believes that they are ugly, under-par, or worthless. It is also for that reason that I am qualified to say that every one of you who are under the influence that you are "not good enough" are magnificent in your own way.

Whether you are a size 0 or a size 14.

Despite who sends hateful words your way to break you down.

Although you may be without the coveted "thigh gap."

You are gorgeous.

Even though guys may be damaging to your self esteem.

Whether you are strong enough to ignore the hypnotizing weight-loss advertisements that prance across our television screens.

Although you may overlook the beauty of Marilyn Monroe for a Victoria Secrets model.

You are treasured.

Even though you have those days where you feel like you should place a bag over your head.

Despite being able to chow down on an entire $5 Subway footlong sub (which is a noteworthy accomplishment in my eyes).

Even though your body lacks plastic.

You are perfect.

Even though you may despise everything you witness in the mirror.

Despite your yoga pants and sweatshirt days.

Although you may have once wished you could look like the Barbie dolls you played with in your youth.

You are loved.

If there was a way that I could hug each one of you and explain to you just how gorgeous you are, I would do it in a heart beat. We have all heard the cliche "beYOUtiful," but it is entirely accurate.

No one can be a better you than you.

No one can be a better me than me.
