Four years later...

It is so surreal to find this blog after four years of absence. Reading all of these posts gives me such a sense of nostalgia. This blog was my life for five years and I made so many amazing friends through it. However, as everyone knows, time doesn't stop even though my blogging appearance may have. Just in case you are curious, these past four years have been an absolute whirlwind, but in the best way.

I started dating my best friend in September of 2014.

I graduated nursing school and became a Registered Nurse.

I continued on in school and ended up becoming Valedictorian of my Bachelor's of Nursing graduating class.

Currently waiting on my acceptance into graduate school to fulfill my dream of becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

I became engaged this past November.

I have an amazing job that I absolutely adore as a nurse.

My fiancé and I have a house that we are renting while I am staying at home with my parents.

Our wedding date is set for June 30th, 2018.

Life is crazy. I look back on these posts and read the joy and heartbreak of 13-17 year old Heather and realize that life is so sweet. I did not know where God was taking me in those years but here I am with everything I could have ever dreamt of and yet, there is more of life to come. Don't get me wrong, life isn't easy. But it is oh-so worth it.

The Sunshine Award

"For bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere."

The rules are:

I. thank the blogger that nominated you and link to his/her blog.
II. nominate other bloggers and let them know on their blogs.
III. answer a list of ten questions.
IV. the Sunshine Award button must be posted on your blog.

MOLLY. I LOVE YOU.

1. What is your favorite scripture verse?

My favorite verse has changed many times over the years but I my all-time favorite is John 16:33.

"For I have told you these things that in me you may have peace.
In this world, you will have tribulation, but take heart!
I have overcome the world."

2. Would you sacrifice your life if it would save that of a stranger's?

If I had to time to think, I would probably attempt to come up with a different solution but if it was a spur of the moment kind of thing, I would say yes.

3. Given the chance to swim with dolphins... would you accept?

HECK YES. I told my parents for years that instead of receiving a car for my sixteenth birthday, I wanted to go swim with dolphins. Sadly, that plan did not work out.

4. Are you more "fascinated" by the light or by the darkness; why?

I am definitely more fascinated with the light. The darkness and the uncertainty that comes with it seem to terrify me.

5. Can you speak with a different accent?

Can I? Yes. Can I speak it well? Not really...

6. Do you play an instrument?

No. :'( My parents were into sports when they were younger so that's what they introduced myself and my sisters to. I once learned how to play a song on guitar but that's the extent of my knowledge.

7. Has the ocean ever filled your dreams?

Most certainly. I grew up at the beach so almost every memory I have from when I was younger is related somehow to the water.

8. Presuming you own one, how often is your journal put to use?

During my school breaks, I am writing constantly. I am always creating and inventing stories but it is only during my time away from school that I am able to put my pen to paper.
9. Why on earth (pun intended) would anyone wish to rule the world?

So that they could possess their own group of minions!

10. What is your favorite hymn?

I'm more into the comtempory style of Christian music but I do enjoy That Old Rugged Cross or I'll Fly Away. I'm a sucker for either one.

I nominate...

KayleeBeth from That Bright One
Aimee from Part Of Me
and Isabelle from She's Not Afraid

~~~
Hopefully I am going to have some actual posts uploaded within the next few days but please bear with me. School is hectic and life-consuming. I sowwy. In the meantime, please go watch Frozen while you wait. There are so words to explain how amazing it is.
I mean, come on. Look at those two. You can't get more adorable than that.
All I Want for Christmas is You {Adventures Edition}
Oh, I don't want a lot for Christmas.
This is all I'm asking for.
I just want to see my baby...
...standing right outside my door.
Oh, I just want you for my own.
More than you could ever know.
Make my wish come true.
Baby, all I want for Christmas...
...is you.
When I first posted my "All I Want for Christmas is You" post that was compiled of fictional characters, I wasn't planning on completing a series. After I started, I was compelled with the need to finish the song. As I post these last wishes on Christmas day, I realize that I do not simply crave possessions. I am also searching for life's moments. In 2014, I vow to be dauntless. I promise to take chances and take on new experiences. I pledge to stress less and love more. Isn't that what life is all about?
Merry Christmas, my lovelies. May this day be magical for every single one of you.
I love you all.
♥,
Heather
