Beauty

I've been thinking lately. The world seems to have all of our minds in a twist. Beauty has become what the world says is beautiful. Girls, who are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, are going to get nose jobs done. Guys, who are perfect, are believing that they themselves are worthless because they don't have the muscles and abs like Taylor Lautner. (I'm smiling and laughing here ;) )

What is beauty? What does it mean to be beautiful?

Beautiful-having beauty; very pleasing to the eye, ear, mind, etc.

"Having beauty." Again we are back to question of what beauty is.

Beauty- The quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is associated with such properties as harmony of form or color, excellence of artistry, truthfulness, and originality.

Excellence of what? Artistry. Y'all, we were created for a reason and we were created by the most skilled artist that has ever lived. We were created by the One who made the heavens and the stars. We were created by the one who has been around for all time. We have been created by God.

Okay did anyone see that last word in that definition before? Originality! Okay so we have just found an important fact here. We don't have to be like anyone else! We have our own unique beauty. No one can judge and tell us that we are not beautiful. Our beauty comes from being our self.



"Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the IMPERISHABLE BEAUTY of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious." 1 Peter 3:3-4

Beauty comes from within :)

"How BEAUTIFUL on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!""Isaiah 57:2

Need I say more?

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16

"I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." In God's eyes we are beautiful because we are His. God made us in His own image. He made us the way we are for a reason. Each of us have a part to play in this world. We don't need to try to make ourselves like everyone else. The only person we need to be like is Christ. :)

Stay At Home Missions 2011

Camp was so stinkin' amazing this year. I loved every minute and I had an absolute blast.

I was in the Site track this year. I volunteered my time at a VBS and played with little kids- best thing ever in my opinion. I completely love little kids :)

My friend Sophie Grace, who came to camp with me, took bunch of photos so when she gets them uploaded, I will have to see if I can just direct you over to her blog. She is an ah-maze-ing photographer and I love her to pieces. I have almost literally grown up with that girl by my side. She has always been there for me.

I have such awesome friends. Honestly, I do. And the best part is a lot of them come to this camp and its one of the few times I get to see them so its a big occasion for me. I have been going to this camp for 4 years now and it seems to get better and more amazing every year.

I will have to see if my mom took any photos and if she did I will try to upload some but in the meantime I hope you guys are having an awesome week and my fellow campers I hope you get lots of rest to make up for the hours of sleep we lost due to staying up and talking ;)

I MISS YOU ALL ALREADY! :'( But I am glad I am home once more and that I will get to sleep in my own bed tonight instead of that air mattress

Oh. My. Gosh. O_O

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOMORROW IS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so stinkin' excited! I have my bag all packed with everything I'll need and more (hehehe yeah you can tell I'm a girl pssh ;) )


Tomorrow after service the youth group will be staying at our church, eating lunch, and going over the last minute details of the trip and then its off to STAY AT HOME MISSIONS 2011!!!!


I won't be posting for this week but never fear! As soon as I am back I will post about camp until my fingers fall off from the typing! ;D

Right now, I am listening to some music from a VBS I worked at last year :/ Yeah I know, its not the most entertaining way to past time but its kind of funny to listen to it and still remember the motions for it. And its fun to remember the times I had with my friends while volunteering at VBS. :) That certain VBS was a special one to me because I got to hang out with a guy-friend who at the time I didn't get to see very often. Now I email him a lot and I get to him every once in a while so I'm all happy. I love memories like those :)

God NEVER leaves us...

A friend of mine invited me to go with him to his friend's church last night. I thought well sure it'd be fun because I'd never been to a service at this church before. I had a lot of fun with my friends and meeting some new ones so it was alright. The only problem I had was with something the preacher said...

Our sermon was about "Alone-ness", being alone. Being emotionally alone, being physically alone and being spiritually alone. The problem I had was when the preacher asked if God ever left us that we were alone. Apparently his answer was yes. For example like if you were going to a bad party would God go with you? Apparently the answer there was no.

I disagree. My mom and I were talking it over afterwards. No. God NEVER EVER EVER leaves you. Once you accept Him and He is inside of you, He will never leave! If you go to that party, He will be there with you. Its just after a while of you not listening to Him saying "That's not the best idea..." He gets quiet and waits for you to realise, "Oh crud, I really messed up this time." He is there for you with open and loving arms to forgive you and put you back on the right track again.

Hebrews 13:5 says "...Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

I'm sorry for my rant but I felt like getting that out

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I just realised that we have a belated birthday here....my blog's!

I'm a JESUS CHICK turned a year old last month! I cannot believe that I've been blogging for a year, honestly it feels longer than that...

In the process of that year, I have gained 20 followers and have had over 16 hundred page views! I know that might not sound like a lot for a person who has over a hundred followers but for me, I am just plain honored and feel loved for it :)

Thank you guys so much for following me. I love my friends and the friends I have made through this experience. I love that you guys actually like reading my randomness and I hope that entertained you guys with it ;)

Another update- Camp. Stay At Home Missions camp is only a week away and I'm so PUMPED! I absolutely, positively cannot wait to see all my buddies there, and to end up making some more new friends in the process, like always. I signed up for the Children's track this year so I am pretty excited. Hopefully I will get it but you know what? I think I'll be happy no matter what I get as long as camp is as awesome and epic as usual! ;D

Penguins! ♥

Hey y'all

Hello my awesome and wonderful followers!

Well lately its been pretty crazy at my house. My grandfather is not doing too well so if you guys could pray for him that would be awesome :)

I woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise. I'd never seen it this bright and orange before. Its moments like these that make me sooo happy to live in the country.

I bought the most awesome pair of sunglasses on Wednesday! If you don't know me I'll just tell you now, I love the color green, and I absolutely love zebra print! So when I was spinning that spin-y rack (pssh I don't know what its name is!) for the sunglasses I turned it and saw them- a pair of hunter green, zebra print sunglasses! AND best part, they are the big ones that make you look like a big which I have always liked.

This picture cannot even begin to describe their epic-ness hehehehe I ♥ them :) I am totally bringing these babies to camp! :D

My town's 4th of July parade and fireworks are tonight and its going to be fabulous :) I've always loved hanging out with my friends, sprawling out on our blanket and watching the fireworks shoot up into the sky and then disappear as if the sky had swallowed them whole. I guess when I was little I was afraid of fireworks and now I think "WHY???"

Another topic to discuss, the Stay At Home Missions camp that I've been attending for either 4 or 5 years is only 15 days away! Oh my gosh I'm so excited!!! I cannot wait to get to see all my Joppa buddies whom I've missed so much and I hope you guys have missed me too ;) jk

Well I love all of y'all and I'll definitely have to bring back details, stories and photos from camp SHM 2011!!!
