"The Best Day Of My Life"

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!

Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart.

I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds.

Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.
Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I didn't even know.

Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care about them and how much they mean to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me.
I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.

Tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.
As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be...

The Best Day Of My Life!

What I do for fun

{All pictures mine, none edited}

So what do a couple of homeschoolers do when the weather begins to get below freezing at night? That's simple. We roll out a huge tarp on a hill, have a sprinkle spray it with water all night, and when we wake up in the morning, we drag each other down on boogie boards :)

The tarp the night before the big freeze.

The frozen grass blades were begging for me to take pictures :)

As were the water spoltches on the tarp. My sisters and I had fun making pictures out of them.

My jeans, after sliding and getting them almost completely soaked. I was freezing cold.

Needless to say, we had fun :) I wish I could've posted some pictures of us sliding down the hill on our boogie boards, but all of them had our faces showing, and since mom doesn't want us on the internet, they were a no-no.

Wait....WHAT?!

{2 posts in one day?! Yeah I've officially gone off my skittles :P }

So I logged onto blogger to check and see if I had any comments. I had 2 waiting for moderation for my last post. One from the amazingly awesome Cindi whom is my blogger twin forever and always. The other was from my simply adorable follower Mary. She informed me that she had given me an award, so of course, I shot over to her blog to find out what she was talking about.

Oh my gosh I sat at my computer desk just staring at it. I was about to cry (happy tears, of course), and I'm not a person who cries easily. I've told people this many times, some days I just stare at all the other popular blogs and wonder to myself, Why am I even continuing I'm a Jesus Chick? I'll never be as big, as fancy, as talented as the other blogs.

Its in those moments, that a friend, not even knowing, does something that completely makes my day. I just want to thank you all, and especially Mary, for giving me the strength and motivation to continue this blog.

I promise that this year, I will create more meaningful posts. This blog, is my way to pass on my thoughts, my life, and my randomosity. I hope that somehow I have touched you, whether giving you a giggle, or maybe giving you something to think about for the day. Either way, I thank God for you all. I have made just great friends during this experience, I'd never take it back for anything in the world :)

(Late) Mood Monday

I cannot even fathom that this is my first 2012 post. 2011 seemed to just fly by. I had finally gotten used to writing the date with an '11 on the end, now I have to write it with a '12?? Sheesh. As I type this post, I realize that I have to hurry and create another soon because if I don't, this post will be lonely in the "2012" tab all by itself.

I hope you all had fun ringing in the New Years! My family and I watched movies, ate pizza, and played Just Dance until it was time to watch the ball drop in Times Square. One year, I'm going to watch it in person. I'm not going to go alone though. I'll drag some friends along with me so I have people to enjoy the experience with :)

I have been reading so many good Resolution lists, and I've had such supportive comments on mine. I thank you all for them.

I know its late, but I feel like doing a "Mood Monday", inspired by Jessica

I'm in a relaxed kinda mood.

I'm happy because I'm doing well on my challenges so far.

I'm sad because there is no mug of steaming hot chocolate in my hand. No worries, I will solve that as soon as I am done with this post :))

I'm anxious because I turn another year older this year. Wow I feel so old.

I adore this post. I seriously love it. Any other people out there bookaholics? ;)

Spiderwebs has (have) me annoyed. They feel creepy as they brush against your face. I almost started screaming a couple days ago because I was out in the yard and I walked right into one. Oh my goodness it was scary.

This:

has me laughing. I have to admit, I'm a mixture of both. :P

You guys has (have) me smiling. There's 52 of you. And God gave me this wonderful life. I'm alive, I'm healthy, and I have hot chocolate down the hallway waiting for me. What's not the smile about? :))

2 Challenges for myself

Okay, so a new year just around the corner. That means everyone is going to be making their New Years resolutions and what not. You could consider me one of those people. I'm the girl who starts into it, but then slows down, then gives up.

Not this year. This year I am determinded to complete 2 things.

Challenge numero uno: Go a year without soda.

Well I'm to attempt it. We recently borrowed the new Tim Tebow book Through My Eyes from our local library. When Tim was younger, his parents told him soda would not help his body. They challenged him to go a year without soda, and if he did, they would give him $100. Well, he did it and he always drinks water now where ever he goes.

I actually started this on the 10th of this month with my sisters. So, since next year is a Leap Year, I'll finish this challenge on the 9th of December 2012.

Challenge numero dos: 365 miles in 365 days

My mom signed my sisters and I up for a marathon. We complete 25 miles on our own, then on race day, we go and complete the 1.2 miles, so we actually do complete a 26.2 marathon. This takes place February 18th so I've still got a bit.

I started this challenge on the 20th of this month and I already have the 27 miles down. I've been fast-walking/running them. I'm going to try to get as many miles in as I can while the weather is cool, since in the summer, I'd be dying outside.

Why am I blogging about this? I'd love it if I could get y'alls support. I know if I have to keep you all updated on my progress, then I will actually continue to complete these challenges. I have a couple more challenges for myself, these are just the larger ones that I thought I would share.

By the way, I'd love it if I could hear your new year challenges as well!

~Peace, love, sisters messing up song lyrics making you die laughing~

P.S. And because I couldn't possibly create a post without a picture of some sort, I leave you with this:

What I am doing

{inspired by Sophie's post, I create this}

At the moment, I am doing many things...

creating// thinking// pondering// smelling// typing up blog posts// wishing// daydreaming// wearing// feeling// breathing// singing// thanking God//

Creating

A guest post over at Faith, Hope, and Buck the Cat

Thinking

Why skittles supposedly "taste like a rainbow"?? I mean, what's up with that? Anyone who can explain this to me will be my best friend.

Pondering

Over how it seems to be that this year went by so quickly. Without even a heads up, Christmas is over, and New Years is less than 5 days away. Whoa. I must've been living under a rock or something.

Smelling

Coconut Pineapple. Oh my gosh I love Bath and Body Works. I'm serious. I bought fragrenise mist yesterday from there on sale from Christmas, Coconut Pineapple. I'm in love. Its simply devine.

Typing up blog posts
You saw that one coming, didn't you? :)

Wishing

that this:

was mine. Isn't it so cute?! Its at Claires, originally $18, now on sale for $7! I couldn't find it at the store, so I might just have to pay the 6 dollars for shipping. Still deciding over whether I'm going to get it.

Daydreaming

About the usual, you know.

Wearing
A black camp t-shirt, dark blue sweatpants, gray and green striped socks (Christmas prezzie, thank you mom and daddy)

Feeling

Cold. Hence the socks and sweat pants and the urge to buy cute winter penguin hats.

Breathing

In fresh country air. Thank you, God :)

Singing

Random, but yes. I'm in a song mood. I've got the song Breathe by Taylor Swift stuck in my head and I have no idea why. Probably because its a neat song.

Thanking God

For allowing me the priviledge to face another year. For good health. For giving me the best friends and family a girl could ask for. And my Christmas was awesome. I got some of the coolest prezzies. The main one being a wii which is extremely exciting because we've never had video games at my house. I've discovered I'm beast at Just Dance, just saying ;)

Oh and I got a bunch more, but one thing I want to tell you guys about are my feather earrings. They are gorgeous. They have 4 feathers on each earring, one blue, one green, one pure white, one white with brown spots. I'm totally obsessed with them.

The weirdest part? Daddy picked them out for me. For one thing, I didn't know daddy would even go into Forever 21, let alone be able to pick out earrings like those. Yeah I was in shock, and I realized I don't give my dad enough credit. He lives in a household full of girls, I guess he'd be able to know what we'd like :) By the way, shout out to daddy, I love you :)

How was your Christmas? :)

It finally arrived!

Christmas! Its finally here!

What if ribbons and bows didn't mean a thing
Would the song still survive without five golden rings
Would you still wanna kiss without misletoe
What would happen if God never let it snow
What would happen if Christmas carols told a lie
Tell me what would you find

You'd see that today holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

~Christmas Must Be Something More by Taylor Swift

To all my wonderful followers, I wish you a merry Christmas and hope all your wishes come true :)
