Little Kids ♥

Oh how I just adore little kids :)

I love to help out in Children's church or the nursery on Sunday mornings at my church. This afternoon, it was my mom's turn to teach the class so I came to help.

And, oh my word. The cutest little blonde-haired, bright blue eyed boy you'd ever seen. His name was (I'm gonna change his name for here) Josiah...hehehe

He was probably about 3 or 4 and I've played with him before. Today since we couldn't get the TV to work to watch the movie for class, we decided to just have a game day. We played "heads-up-seven-up", on the play set outside, a little bit of basketball (my bball buddies would be proud of me I actually made a couple shots today ;) ), but then it started thundering so we came back inside again. I was playing air hockey with another little boy when I became thirsty. I had a little girl take my spot and I went to go get a drink. Outside the room where the air hockey and ping-pong table are, is the larger fellowship hall. I stepped out and Josiah was there. He started following me. I came him a funny kind of smile and he just giggled back.

Then randomly he said "I'm a sheriff!", showing me this racket kind of device in his hand meant to be his weapon.

"Oh really?" I replied with a smile and putting my hands down on my knees to be more at his level.

"Yes! And you are the bad guy!"

"Oh really? Hmmmm..." putting my hands on my hips and thinking. "...how much do I get in trouble if I kidnap the sheriff??" looking at him with an evil smile. I grabbed him and started to tickle him. I took the time that I had bought myself while he was laughing and made a break for it.

Both of us took off running and giggling. Me running because I needed to get away from the "sheriff" and Josiah running because he wanted to put me "behind bars".

I hid behind some chairs and then my mom caught up to him.

"What are you doing?" She asked smiling at him.

"I'm catching the bandage!!" The little boy exclaimed looking around wildly for me.

Meanwhile I'm cracking up laughing because he meant bandit and not bandage. My laughing was audible so Josiah eventually found me and I had to take off running again to hide a new hiding spot.

I ended up letting him catch me and try to lead me off to jail. Then church let out and his big brother came to get him.

*Sigh* I love little kids :)

Do you guys have any funny little kid stories? If so, I'd love to hear them :)

  1. Awww he sounds adorable! Cute story! :) Last week I was at camp working with the 4-5 age group for a few days. There was this little boy who was crying because he missed his mom. I told him we'd make a card for her, so she would know he was thinking about her throughout the day. Anyways, I showed him how to make a heart border and everything. The next day I asked him about it, and he said his mom is going to put it in her office at work! :)
