EEEEEPPPPP!!!!!

I never told you guys, but this past week I was working on my huge science fair project. I was posting mainly just so my blog wouldn't look empty. I had to create a board with everything and type up a 16 page research paper(slash novel in my opinion). I didn't really want to mention it on here, because I wasn't sure if I was going to be successful or not.

Yesterday was the day of science fair. I got up early, made sure I had everything packed up, dressed in something formal because I had to present, and momma drove me to the fair along with my sisters.

About half a mile from where the fair would take place, I asked momma, "Can we turn around and go home now?" Those of you who know me, I'm a perfectionist. I like things to be in order, and know what's going to happen. I was so nervous about this thing. I forced a bowl of cereal into me before my stomach remembered that it was the Big Day, other than that I wouldn't have ate at all.

Momma just laughed, and we continued on. I presented my experiment to the judges, and pretended to be calm while on the inside I was freaking out.

Later on, when it came time for the awards, I sat next to my best friend whom I hadn't seen in a while. They called the 5th grade winners, they called the 6th grade winners, they called the middle school winners. Then it was the time I had been holding my breath for. As my science club teacher started naming off the high school division winners, I couldn't breathe. She got to the 2nd place winner, and still hadn't called my name yet, then I knew.

You know that feeling when you are so nervous that you feel like you are about to collapse? Let's just say I was like that times 10. My heart literally felt like it was up in my throat. I thought I was about to start hyperventilating. The 2nd place winner left the front of the room, and then the teacher called the name of the first place winner. My name. I tried not to trip as I walked up (people don't tease me about being Grace for nothing).

So yeah, I won. And it felt awesome. :) Next month is Regionals, so I will be headed there to present again. I'm so excited, yet terrified at the thought. I have to keep reminding myself that I can do ALL THINGS through Him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13 for those who don't follow Tebow ;) )
